Where Every
Journey Begins

INSIDE OUR NURSERY

Raised With Love From the Very Beginning

Our puppies are raised right inside our home, where their earliest days are filled with warmth, careful attention, and plenty of love. From the moment they arrive, we work to provide a clean, peaceful environment where both mama and her puppies can feel safe and comfortable.

As they grow, their world begins to grow with them. Gentle handling, everyday household sounds, toys, new surfaces, and plenty of interaction help prepare each puppy for life beyond our nursery.

Those first eight weeks go by quickly, but we believe they lay the foundation for the confident, loving companions our families take home.

THE FIRST EIGHT WEEKS

Every Puppy’s Journey Begins at Home

From the moment our puppies are born, their first eight weeks are filled with careful handling, age-appropriate socialization, and close attention to their health and development. During the earliest days, we focus on keeping mama and her litter comfortable, clean, warm, and well monitored.

As the puppies grow, they are handled daily and gradually introduced to normal household activity, different sounds, toys, textures, and new experiences. They spend time interacting with their littermates and with us, helping them build confidence and become comfortable with people before they ever leave our home.

As go-home day approaches, we focus on helping each puppy become ready for the transition into a new family. They are accustomed to daily handling, household routines, play, and human interaction so that their first days in their new home can feel a little more familiar.

Our goal is to send every puppy home healthy, confident, well cared for, and ready to begin life with the family who has been waiting for them.

“Eight weeks may seem short, but they are filled with the care, experiences, and preparation that help shape a puppy’s beginning.”

READY FOR HOME

Preparing for Go-Home Day

As go-home day approaches, we make sure both our puppies and their new families are prepared for the transition ahead. Our puppies are dewormed every two weeks beginning at two weeks of age and receive their first set of vaccinations before leaving our care. Each puppy goes home with a health record showing the care they have received, along with their registration paperwork.

Before pickup, we personally talk with each family about the food their puppy is currently eating, their routine, and anything else they may want to know before bringing their new puppy home. It also gives us an opportunity to answer questions and make sure everyone feels comfortable and prepared for those first few days together.

Reservation & Payment

A $300 deposit is required to reserve a puppy. Once the deposit is received, that puppy is removed from availability and held specifically for that family.

Deposits are non-refundable because once a puppy has been reserved, that puppy is no longer available for another family to choose.

For puppies traveling with a flight nanny, the remaining balance is due during the week the puppy goes home. Families meeting us for pickup may either pre-pay the remaining balance or bring cash at pickup.

Pickup or Flight Nanny

For families close enough to drive, we arrange a convenient meeting place and time for pickup. When a puppy will be traveling by air, we help connect the family with the trusted flight nanny service we use and work together to coordinate the trip. A group message keeps everyone connected throughout the journey, with updates such as boarding, delays, landing times, and arrival. We also send the family a photo of the flight nanny holding their puppy so they know exactly who to look for at the airport.

One of our favorite moments is receiving that first picture after the puppy is safely in their new family’s arms. With permission, we love sharing those homecoming photos on our Facebook page as we officially welcome another family into the Jordan’s Shorty Jacks family.

Go-Home Bag

Every puppy also leaves with a little go-home bag to help make the transition easier. Inside, families may find food for the first few days, health records and registration papers, a toy, a blanket carrying the familiar scent of their littermates, and a water bowl or bottle for the trip home.

“Go-home day isn’t simply goodbye. It’s the day one of our puppies begins a brand-new chapter—and another family becomes part of ours.”
